Argentine Oilseed Plants Go on Strike Without Labor Conflict

Buenos Aires, December 18 (NA) — The chamber grouping the country's main oilseed processing companies denounced that the plants are carrying out a strike without any labor conflict.

«Several plants and ports woke up to a total shutdown of activities organized by the Oilseed Federation, without any union basis, without any labor conflict whatsoever, and having signed the social peace with the last collective agreement just a few days ago,» stated CIARA.

The entity maintained: «It is a purely political decision, foreign to the industry. They argue that it is due to the Labor Modernization bill, which is being treated in the National Senate».

«That is where they must participate, just as other unions and interested parties are doing; it is not by harming the workers and the entire Argentine oilseed industry,» concluded the report received by the Argentine News Agency.
